Ears & Teeth

1 min read · Updated October 4, 2026

How far the ears stick out, and the alignment of any teeth that are visible.

How it's assessed

Each item here is checked as a visible condition and answered none, mild, moderate or severe. If it can't be seen in your photo, the answer is none, and most healthy adults show none for most items. The full explanation is on the Features overview.

Ear Protrusion

How far the ears stick out from the side of the head as seen from the front. Ears lying flat against the head grade as none, and ears clearly jutting outward grade as moderate or severe. Hair over the ears hides them, so they can only be graded if they are visible.

Teeth

Crooked, crowded, gapped, missing or discoloured teeth, and only if teeth are visible. Photos with a closed mouth, which we recommend for accurate measurements, show no teeth, so this is graded none. Teeth are only graded when they can be seen.
