Cheek Leanness

1 min read · Updated October 4, 2026

How lean or full the cheeks look, from gaunt to round.

What it is

Cheek leanness is how much soft tissue sits over the cheek area. Lean cheeks show the contour of the bone and a gentle hollow beneath it; fuller cheeks look rounder and softer.

What a high score looks like

A high score reads as lean, structured cheeks with visible contour. A low score reads as full, rounded cheeks. This is graded against others of the same sex, since typical fullness differs between men and women.

What affects it

Overall body fat, water retention, and age all play a part. Photos taken with a wide-angle lens close to the face make cheeks look wider and rounder than they are, so shoot from about 1.5 metres. Smiling lifts and fills the cheeks, so use a relaxed neutral face.

How it's graded

Angularity is judged visually, not measured from landmarks: an AI model looks at the photo and grades the feature from 1 to 10 against people of the same sex, where 5 is typical. Because soft-tissue definition depends heavily on light and angle, treat the score as a read of this photo.
