Angularity
Cheekbone Prominence
1 min read · Updated October 4, 2026
How clearly the cheekbones read as a distinct structure under the skin.
What it is
Cheekbone prominence is how visible the cheekbones are as a shape, rather than blending into a rounded cheek. It is about visibility and definition, not just where the bone sits (that is Cheekbone Height under Harmony).
What a high score looks like
A high score means the cheekbones are clearly visible, with a defined hollow beneath them that gives the midface a sculpted look. A low score means the cheek reads soft and rounded with little visible structure.
What affects it
Body fat is the biggest factor: leaner faces show their structure and fuller faces hide it. Lighting matters a great deal too. Flat, front-on light smooths the face, while light from slightly above or to the side casts the shadows that define a cheekbone. Hydration, sleep and salt change how puffy the face looks. The score is graded from the photo, not measured, so the same face can score differently in different light.
How it's graded
Angularity is judged visually, not measured from landmarks: an AI model looks at the photo and grades the feature from 1 to 10 against people of the same sex, where 5 is typical. Because soft-tissue definition depends heavily on light and angle, treat the score as a read of this photo.
